The area has a mixture of small towns and growing cities. In fact, Bell and Williamson Counties are among the fastest growing counties in Texas. Yet, there is still room for recreation, farming and deer hunting.

We serve the student needs of Southwestern University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Central Texas College, and Temple College with over 10,000 students, many of them Methodists.

We are a racially diverse district. We have several predominately African American congregations, one predominately Korean congregation and several churches that are racially diverse. We are working to better minister to and with the growing hispanic population within our district.

The Wesleyan Home Retirement Center, Nursing Care Facility, and Alzheimer’s Care Unit is located in Georgetown. It provides marvelous care for the aging. The Wesleyan is preparing to build a new facility that will greatly improve its already excellent ministry.

Fort Hood, one of the nation’s largest Army installations, is located between Killeen, Copperas Cove and Gatesville. The churches in those cities are integrally involved in ministries with our service personnel, as are many others in our district.
